- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Terrible experience in the emergency room with my father. He was suffering from hepatic encephalopathy and the emergency room doctor, Jyothsna Swarna, barely looked at him, did no physical examination, and when I questioned his MELD score, she asked me in a very condescending manner if I had a medical background. She would not give my father lactulose because his ammonia level was not elevated. She told me that his chances of dying in the next three months was less than 30%. That was on December 4, 2014. He passed away (thanks to the incompetent staff at the VA) on February 24, 2015. I am disgusted with the way the Fresno VA treated my father. The veterans should have the best treatment in this country. If it weren't for them, most of these "doctors" would not have received the opportunities to pursue a medical degree.November 07, 2017by Lia
