  Dr Atwal is an insult to his profession and his colleges. He is rude, curt, and I believe that he treats women as a lesser species. He does not listen to his patients nor their advocates. But he sure was quick to remind us of the $15 co-pay after being an ass for a 20 minute office visit. I will never return and I recommend to anyone that is referred to this quack to quickly ask for anyone else. ANYONE!!!

  So a couple years ago I was referred to this guy, because I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder/Agoraphobia and it was effecting my college time at FSU. "You might benefit from someone to talk to," said my GP. I had been prescribed Alprazolam, and was functioning as well as I ever had.. I was open to the idea. During my FIRST visit he asked to look at my prescription bottle, and he then walked to the bathroom & dumped my meds in the toilet. He assured me this was for my own good. I then was told to come back within an hour for a new prescription. I walked out to my car, got gas, went back, and he was gone. The next day he refused to refill my script or compensate me for my meds which he flushed...he hadn't even prescribed those meds.. He didn't ask me. I then sat at my house for about a month having terrible anxiety, the twitches, insomnia, tremors, and sweats, and severe stomach problems because HE DECIDED I should stop taking those meds. This was the worst experience of my life. Avoid this nutcase. PS- Never kick meds "cold turkey," it's irresponsible and dangerous... Sometimes fatal.

  I was on 10mg a day of Clonazapam when I started seeing Dr.Atwal due to the painful physical dependency my body had developed to the medication of the course of 14+ yrs. / my life was out of control. Dr. Atwal was the only person I could find in this area that dared take on cases such as mine. Over the course of 8 months ( @ 90$ a session / seeing him every 2 weeks) Dr.Atwal weaned me off the Clonazapam & onto a combination of medications he prescribed (Zoloft & Trileptal) for the "bi-polar" diagnosis he gave me ( not even 10 minutes into meeting him ) . I had NO confidence in him due to his lack of interest in anything i had to say / he spoke At me rather than To me, he referred to me as a drug addict & treated me as such.Needless to say, I hated his character.The New meds. He gave me Took months for my body & brain to adjust properly (there were MANY times I felt WORSE before I got better, but I was determined & felt this was my last chance at life. I recommend Dr.Atwal *Despite* his personality because he Accomplished getting me off Clonazapam & the medication he prescribed me has had me balanced for years now ( and 60 pounds heaver due to 300mg of 'Trileptal' a day ) All in all, He Will get you Well, but by no means will he be your favorite person.
